Edens Gates - Community Trust Layer to Magic Eden

Abstract

Edens Gates introduces the first community backed category on Magic Eden, a space where every project is not only vetted by Magic Eden’s own standards, but also earns the backing of the community itself! Each week, on the Edens Gates platform, three NFT founders submit their vision (via 3-5 minute video), $ME holders vote, and the winner earns a permanent “Community-Backed Badge” and featured recognition slot on the marketplace.

  • All founders/projects go through rigorous screening prior to making it to a community vote.

  • In addition to the founders 3-5 minute video, Live Q&A sessions leading into the weekly vote may be required.

Over time, this creates a trusted category where collectors know every project has been through double accountability, screened for quality, and endorsed by active participants. The system is fully additive to Magic Eden’s current launchpad vetting, but adds something brand new; a transparent, ongoing way for the community to reward builders and surface projects they believe in.

Motivation

Imagine opening Magic Eden and knowing there is a dedicated section you can always trust, a pipeline of projects that not only passed ME’s internal standards, but also stood up in front of the community and earned their votes. Edens Gates makes that possible!

  1. For holders, it means $ME is more than a governance token. It becomes a tool to push forward projects they actually want to succeed, while also filtering out bad actors.
  2. For builders, it creates a badge of accountability that follows their collection forever: proof they earned community support before launch.
  3. For Magic Eden, it strengthens platform trust, adds a new utility sink for $ME, and builds constant engagement through weekly participation.

This is not just another voting app! Instead a long-term trust layer for the marketplace, creating a self-sustaining cycle of spotlighting, accountability, and utility.

Appreciate that Ghost!

That is a big part of the vision, giving builders and artists a stage where the community decides who gets the spotlight, also happy to hear you like the name.

I want Edens Gates to feel like a real entry point for creators. Excited to hear feedback from the community as we shape this together.

Love the idea. I tend to invest in very limited NFT communities, because of the hurddle of knowing of they’ve accomplished their goals or are building something worthy.

Old communities tend to do little explaining to newcomers.

Appreciate you sharing the feedback! What you said about limited communities really makes sense and its the kind of space Edens Gates is aiming to build. A place where goals are clear, builders are accountable, and newcomers dont feel lost trying to figure out if the project is even moving forward. We want to keep things small but transparent so people like you who focus on tighter communities know they’re backing something real.
