Magic Merch: The Physical Collectibles Platform for Web3 Communities
Proposal
Abstract
Magic Merch aims to onboard thousands of people into the Web3 space, particularly within the Magic Eden community, by bridging the online Web3 culture with real-world experiences. It will serve as the first Web3 physical collectibles marketplace to supply Magic Eden community-driven projects & other web3 projects, featuring a custom QR code system, combined with strong community engagement initiatives through a dedicated rewards page for Web3 projects across all chains.
Powered by $ME as one of the primary payment methods, Magic Merch will promote recurring transactions and help increase token demand. Additionally, each partner project will have its own branded storefront on the Magic Merch platform, where community members can purchase physical items such as clothing, toys, art, 3D prints, limited-edition collectibles, and more… with options for customization.
The Magic Merch team will manage end-to-end production at our proposed infrastructure, QR code integration, and global shipping through established manufacturing companies.
This initiative expands the real-world reach of Magic Eden and $ME, embedding Web3 utility into physical products while onboarding new users through tangible, interactive experiences.
Motivation
Magic Eden has become the cultural hub for NFTs and crypto assets. However, there is currently no dedicated ecosystem for physical goods, nor are there effective physical promotional assets that represent the projects hosted on Magic Eden. Magic Merch bridges this gap by:
· The QR code integration model turns every physical product into a promotional tool for other Magic Eden projects by linking back to the product’s page and driving visibility
· With one of our major products being 3D prints, which will be replicas of digital collectibles (NFTs), the Web3 community will be able to see their art in the real world instead of owning assets that exist only online.
· $ME stakers will get a discount plus free merchandise
· enabling project founders and users to monetize beyond NFTs with our reward system, while driving recurring $ME transactions.
· Positioning $ME as one of the default tokens for phygital commerce across Web3.
· By grounding Web3 in physical goods across all chains, Magic Merch will strengthen community ties, improve visibility of Magic Eden projects, and create a long-term revenue loop
· The platform serves as both a merch store and a growth mechanism through the reward system where project founders can earn a 4% referral commission made from their partnered storefront’s sales, and can also create promotional events to reward their community where community members can participate by scanning the QR code on their physical product purchased from the storefront to gain access to the event.
Key Terms
$ME: Magic Eden’s ecosystem token used for payments, governance, and utility.
Phygital: Physical items embedded with digital/Web3 elements (e.g., QR codes linking to project storefronts or token-gated pages).
Storefront: A branded mini-shop hosted on Magic Merch for individual projects.
QR Code Utility: Embedded codes in merch that link buyers back to a project’s NFT collection, website, or token-gated pages.
KPIs: key impact metrics
Specification
1. Merch Store:
· This is one of the features of the platform where users can purchase physical collectibles of their respective web3 communities. Each card on the homepage represents a partner or pilot project with their unique branding.
· The Home page contains a grid of project storefront cards that link to the project’s storefronts with key information about the project.
· Each project hosts a dedicated page with its collectibles, where its community can shop.
· Upon clicking on project card on the home page, it takes the user to the dedicated storefront
· Users can check out by using $ME as one of the primary payment methods
· Every product embeds a scannable code linking back to the project’s storefront.
2. Order Management
Similar to a standard Web2 system, we will handle end-to-end production, QR code integration, and global shipping.
When users place an order and complete payment in crypto ($ME), the website automatically forwards the order details to the manufacturing team. The team then oversees every stage of production and fulfillment until the product is successfully delivered to the buyer.
Shipment:
Since it will be too expensive and time-consuming to set up a shipping line that can deliver goods globally, we will be using the following companies
· DHL – A multinational logistics company providing courier, package delivery, and express mail services, delivering over 1.7 billion parcels annually.
· FedEx Corporation – An American multinational conglomerate specializing in transportation, e-commerce, and business services.
· Other companies – If the above two are not available, we will also consider using other companies already analyzed by our team to ensure steady delivery
These companies were carefully selected for their proven track record, global reputation, and consistent quality of service. While not all will be used simultaneously, some will serve as backup options to ensure reliability and continuity in case of any company delays or disruptions.
Production backup plan:
If we encounter challenges in production within our physical infrastructure, we will engage reputable third-party companies with proven track records to handle production while we work to resolve the issues.
3. Reward system & Web3 Partnership
A reward system will be developed to allow founders to reward their physical asset holders. The holders can participate in social tasks and verify their physical ownership to earn exclusive rewards. This feature enables physical asset holders to complete various activities, climb leaderboards, and win prizes. Each time a user clicks the “Reward” button on a product listing page, they will be prompted to scan the physical QR code on their purchased item. The scan will only be successful if the user is logged in with the same account used to purchase the product.
This is made possible by encoding the user’s unique platform ID into the QR code at checkout. While anyone can scan the QR code to visit the website, only the verified owner will have access to the reward page. This feature is designed to boost engagement, drive more sales, and potentially increase $ME transaction volume within the ecosystem.
4. Community & Partnership
Since this is a long-term project, it’s essential to establish systems that keep the entire community engaged and incentivized. With that in mind, the structure has been designed to involve all key stakeholders, project founders, platform users, and the broader Magic Eden community.
Below are some of the ways we plan to include everyone involved:
· Project Founders:
Upon successful partnership, each project founder will earn a 4% commission on every sale made through their project storefront. The best part is that founders won’t need to handle any technical setup or storefront maintenance. All that’s required from them is their approval and commitment to promote their storefront within their community, then we handle everything else.
· Physical Asset Holders:
Every project’s physical asset holder will have the option to complete simple tasks and earn incentives through the project’s promotional events hosted on the platform. Through these activities, the platform will generate mutual benefits for the community & community-driven projects, driving increased demand for the $ME token and enhancing project visibility across the ecosystem through the integration of QR code system.
Technical Stack
Magic Merch will be built with a focus on performance, scalability, and seamless integration with Web3 technologies. The platform combines modern Web2 infrastructure with decentralized elements to ensure reliability, speed, and global accessibility.
Implementation Steps
The development and deployment of the Magic Merch website will follow a structured, milestone-based approach to ensure a smooth launch, technical stability, and strategic alignment with Magic Eden’s ecosystem. However, before beginning full-scale development, we need to account for our limited budget of around $20,000, which we expect to receive from the Magic Eden team. Given these constraints, jumping straight into development may not be feasible due to the high costs involved.
The following steps outline how we plan to achieve our goals despite the limited resources within the specified 3 months:
Phase 1: Infrastructure & Discord Setup (Weeks 1-4)
· Lease a 3D printer with Filaments, a printer for clothes, mugs, caps, and other materials to kickstart full production
· Rent an office space, make arrangements for electricity and furniture
· Set up a Discord server to help build community, make initial sales, and enhance collaboration
Phase 2: Basic Payment Page & Collaboration (Weeks 5–8)
· Build A temporal web page that will enable us to collect payment in $ME tokens from the orders we will get from our partner projects on Discord & X (Twitter) for the main time, while we work towards building the main website
· Secure more collaboration with community-driven & other NFT projects that can turn to our potential customers
Phase 3: Develop Website Prototype and Start Full Production (Weeks 9–12)
· Develop our main website prototype to showcase what we are going to build once we have the funds to cover the development cost and other digital infrastructures to deliver a reliable UI/UX experience for our customers
Phase 4: Develop & Launch Our Official Website and Ecosystem Growth (Ongoing)
After the first three months, our goal is to reinvest the profits earned from sales with our partner projects into developing our main product website, which is the backbone of the entire project. From there, we’ll focus on acquiring additional machinery to boost production capacity and expand our product range.
Benefits / Risks
Benefits:
· Increases $ME token demand (payments, fees, rewards).
· Provide incentives to the Magic Eden community
· Expands Magic Eden’s brand footprint into physical goods.
· Creates a new utility for projects hosted on Magic Eden.
· Provides sustainable recurring revenue via merch sales while expanding community presence and awareness.
· Ease of payment for the web3 communities using $ME as one of the major payment methods
Risks
· Supply chain delays
· Price volatility of $ME
· Limitations of the payment method
Risk Mitigation
Supply Chain Delays: To minimize risks of production or delivery delays, Magic Merch will work with multiple manufacturing and logistics companies in addition to our physical infrastructure, as a backup plan to ensure flexibility and backup coverage. In a situation where one faces disruption, another can seamlessly handle production or fulfillment
$ME Price Volatility: To address $ME’s price fluctuations, the platform will implement a dual-currency system that supports both $ME and USDT valuations. Products will be priced in USD, and at checkout, the equivalent $ME amount and payment address will be displayed for the user to complete the transaction within a specified time window. Once the blockchain confirms the payment, the order will be processed immediately.
Additionally, an auto-swap mechanism will be developed to convert received $ME into USDT instantly after each successful transaction, minimizing exposure to market volatility and ensuring stable operational liquidity.

Performance Milestones
Month 1: Infrastructure & Discord Setup
During the first month, we’ll focus on establishing the foundation for the project. This includes purchasing and setting up the necessary infrastructure, renting office space for production and on-site staff, setting up the Discord server, which will initially serve as a hub for collaboration, community building, rewarding the Magic Eden community, marketing, and purchasing raw materials for production.
Month 2: Basic Payment Page & Collaboration
Because of the high cost of developing our official website, we’ll start by creating a simple site that customers can use to complete orders after reaching an agreement through our Discord server. This will help build trust with potential customers while we continue working on the main e-commerce website, which will include all the unique features discussed earlier. Once the basic site is up, we’ll focus on securing more collaborations with different projects across various chains.
Month 3: Develop Website Prototype and Start Full Production
This month, we’ll focus on developing a prototype of our main website to showcase what we plan to build once we secure the necessary funds to cover development costs and other digital infrastructure. The goal is to present a clear vision of the reliable and seamless UI/UX experience we aim to deliver to our customers. After completing the prototype, we’ll begin full-scale production.
Year 1: Develop & Launch Our Official Website and Ecosystem Growth (Ongoing)
After the first three months, our goal is to reinvest the profits earned from sales with our partner projects into developing our main product website, which is the backbone of the entire project. From there, we’ll focus on acquiring additional machinery to boost production capacity and expand our product range.
